Amazon AWS CEO: Cloud business still has huge opportunities in the AI wave
Amazon AWS CEO Matt Garman stated that the vast majority of enterprises are still dealing with on-premises data workloads, indicating that there is still a huge opportunity for cloud services. Currently, about 15%-20% of data has been migrated to the cloud, with a large amount of workloads yet to be migrated. He emphasized that artificial intelligence is driving enterprises to transition to the cloud, and AWS is strengthening cooperation with companies such as NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel. At the same time, AWS has launched a new strategic partnership with Oracle, providing Oracle Database@AWS services
According to the financial news app Zhitong Finance, Matt Garman, the CEO of Amazon's (AMZN.US) cloud platform AWS, stated that the vast majority of enterprises are still processing data workloads locally, indicating a huge opportunity in cloud operations.
"Roughly 15% to 20% of data has been migrated to the cloud," Garman said at the Goldman Sachs Communication and Technology Conference on Monday. "The majority of workloads have not been migrated yet, hence creating a lot of opportunities. There are still a large number of local data workloads."
He added, "We are indeed helping customers to move workloads to the cloud faster. It is much easier than running your own servers. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is also driving more people towards the cloud."
Despite an annual operating rate of up to $105 billion, Garman remains confident about the future. He also mentioned that the progress made in the field of artificial intelligence so far is just the tip of the iceberg.
"I am incredibly excited about this technology," Garman said. "Over time, it will to some extent change every industry. Initially, businesses have improved efficiency through artificial intelligence. That's great, but it only scratches the surface of the true value of artificial intelligence. We are unleashing capabilities that have never been seen before."
AWS continues to establish partnerships with companies like NVIDIA (NVDA.US), AMD (AMD.US), and Intel (INTC.US).
He stated, "We have excellent partners."
AWS and Oracle (ORCL.US) announced a new strategic partnership on Monday, launching Oracle Database@AWS, allowing customers to access Oracle Autonomous Database and Exadata Database services on AWS
