Lazard strategist says Trump's tariff plan is unfavorable to US stock market trends
Lazard's strategist stated that Donald Trump's plan to impose comprehensive tariffs on foreign-produced goods may reignite the risks of high inflation and low economic growth in the United States, posing a threat to the stock market. "Not taking Trump's tariff policy seriously is risky," said Ronald Temple, chief equity strategist at the asset management company managing $205 billion. "This has a significant impact on inflation, economic growth, the U.S. dollar, interest rates, Federal Reserve policy, and corporate profits. If it ultimately leads to stagflation, it is hard to imagine the stock market rising."
