NVIDIA is in talks to acquire software startup OctoAI for about $165 million, which focuses on improving the operational efficiency of customer AI models. OctoAI's shareholders include Tiger Global Management, among others. NVIDIA has been active in mergers and acquisitions recently, having completed four deals this year, including the acquisitions of Run:Ai, Deci, Shoreline, and Brev.dev
According to the financial news app Zhitong Finance, NVIDIA (NVDA.US) is reportedly in discussions to acquire the software startup OctoAI.
Citing a document sent to shareholders by OctoAI, NVIDIA has made an offer of approximately $165 million to acquire this Seattle-based startup. The company sells software for customer use and helps their artificial intelligence models run more efficiently. Shareholders of OctoAI include Tiger Global Management, Madrona Venture Group, and Amplify Partners.
NVIDIA has not immediately responded to requests for comments.
Recently, NVIDIA has been active in the mergers and acquisitions field, having completed four deals so far this year. In April, NVIDIA acquired the Israeli data center management software company Run:Ai for $700 million; in May, it acquired the Israeli end-to-end deep learning platform developer Deci for $300 million. In June, NVIDIA acquired the data center fault automation technology company Shoreline, with the deal reportedly valued at around $100 million; in July, the company acquired the AI development tool startup Brev.dev, with the financial terms of the transaction undisclosed
