Swedish court supports postal workers, Tesla still struggles to lift "license plate blockade"

On Friday, a Swedish district court upheld a preliminary ruling that Postnord, the Swedish postal service company, is not required to deliver Tesla license plates. It is reported that in support of striking automotive workers, Swedish postal workers refused to deliver Tesla license plates. The American car manufacturer is facing pressure from powerful unions in the Nordic countries, which support the mechanics union IF Metall in Sweden. The union held a strike in October 2023, demanding a collective bargaining agreement with Tesla. Despite the postal blockade making it more difficult to obtain license plates, media reports indicate that Tesla has found a way around the union by requiring buyers to order the plates themselves. The Nordic region is a key market for Tesla, and the company's policy is to not agree to collective bargaining, stating that its employees are treated as well as, if not better than, what IF Metall demands.
