Shi Jianyong, a senior researcher at the Shanghai International Cruise Economic Research Center and a professor at Shanghai University of Engineering Science, stated that China's three cruise industries (cruise, river cruise, and yacht) have entered a stage of recovery and transformation. The popularity of cruise tourism is surging, and the industry is entering a fast recovery lane. It is expected that the global number of cruise passengers will increase from over 34.1 million at the end of 2024 to 40.27 million by 2028. Currently, there are 3 international cruise ships and 5 domestic cruise ships operating in 12 ports on the mainland, with a total of 110 voyages throughout 2023, and 348 voyages operated by October 2024
