According to the Zhitong Finance APP, WAHSUN HANDBAGS (02683) released its interim results for the six months ending September 30, 2024, with revenue of HKD 352 million, an increase of 5.33% year-on-year; profit attributable to shareholders of HKD 26.98 million, an increase of 29.05% year-on-year; and basic earnings per share of HKD 0.066.
The announcement stated that in the first half of 2024, the group experienced a slight decrease in revenue from American customers of approximately HKD 7.6 million or 2.7%, falling from approximately HKD 281.7 million in the first half of 2023 to approximately HKD 274.1 million in the first half of 2024. This decline was primarily due to a decrease in consumer confidence in the U.S. consumer market. However, the contribution from new customers and existing customers in Europe (especially the Netherlands) increased significantly (from approximately HKD 2.5 million in the first half of 2023 to approximately HKD 12.3 million in the first half of 2024), fully offsetting the aforementioned decline
