Li Qiang: We must race against various uncertainties and complete confirmed tasks as early as possible; better early than late
Li Qiang emphasized at the constitutional oath-taking ceremony the importance of remembering the oath, practicing the spirit of the rule of law, enhancing the ability to govern according to law, and maintaining integrity and self-discipline. He pointed out that next year, economic and social development will face challenges, requiring a focus on practical work, seizing time to advance tasks, paying attention to public needs, and actively solving problems. At the same time, there should be a willingness to innovate, implement reform tasks, strengthen departmental collaboration, and form a cohesive effort in work
On December 23, the State Council held a constitutional oath-taking ceremony. Premier Li Qiang presided over the oath.
According to the Constitution of the People's Republic of China and the Organizational Measures for the Constitutional Oath of National Staff Appointed by the State Council and its Departments, 45 heads of 35 departments and units appointed by the State Council took the constitutional oath in accordance with the law.
At 9 a.m., State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Wu Zhenglong announced the start of the constitutional oath-taking ceremony. Everyone stood up and sang the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. Subsequently, the oath leader placed a hand on the Constitution and recited the oath, while the other oath-takers stood in line and followed the recitation.
After the oath, Premier Li Qiang delivered a speech. He emphasized the need to keep the solemn oath in mind, to practice it through unremitting efforts, and to fulfill it with extraordinary achievements. He called for adherence to Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to arm the mind, guide practice, and promote work, deeply understanding the decisive significance of the "two establishments," enhancing the "four consciousnesses," strengthening the "four confidences," and achieving the "two safeguards."
He stressed the importance of always upholding the authority of the Constitution, taking the lead in respecting, learning, abiding by, and using the law, adhering to the spirit of the rule of law, strictly administering according to law, and continuously improving the ability to solve problems using legal thinking and methods. He also emphasized the need for integrity and self-discipline, establishing a correct view of power, performance, and career, consciously accepting supervision, and setting an example in the fight against corruption.
Li Qiang pointed out that next year, China's economic and social development will still face many difficulties and challenges, and we must face them head-on, take responsibility, and strive to open up new horizons for reform and development.
First, we must prioritize practical work and be proactive. With a spirit of seizing the day, we should put practical work first, refine and implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, focus on each task, and achieve results. We must race against various uncertainties, expedite confirmed work as early as possible, and continuously consolidate the momentum of economic recovery. We should adhere to a people-centered development philosophy, actively understand the demands of the public and enterprises, and solve urgent and difficult problems.
Second, we must tackle reforms and dare to innovate. We should thoroughly implement the deployments of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, not shrink back from difficulties, not avoid contradictions, dare to break through habitual thinking, actively plan effective work measures, and ensure that various reform tasks are implemented.
Third, we must take a step forward and strengthen collaboration. All departments and localities should consciously think and act within the overall situation, actively communicate, support each other, and form a collaborative effort. He emphasized that under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, we should demonstrate greater enthusiasm, a more solid style, and achieve even better results, making greater contributions to the construction of a strong country and the great rejuvenation of the nation.
Leaders of the State Council and responsible comrades from relevant departments of the State Council participated.
