U.S. stock market opens: Three major indices rise slightly by 0.3%, MSTR up 4%
On the last trading day of 2024 for U.S. stocks, the S&P 500 index opened up 12.80 points, an increase of 0.22%, reporting at 5919.74 points;
The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened up 62.97 points, an increase of 0.15%, reporting at 42636.70 points;
The Nasdaq Composite opened up 64.57 points, an increase of 0.33%, reporting at 19551.36 points.
"Bitcoin whale" MicroStrategy rose 4% in early trading, NVIDIA rose 0.3%, and Tesla rose 1.4%. Rigetti Computing rose 3.6%.
Chinese concept stocks saw Li Auto drop 0.9%, while JD.com, JinkoSolar, XPeng, Nio, and Tiger Brokers rose over 1%. The ETF YINN fell 0.1%.
Tesla China recalled part of the domestically produced Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles, totaling 77,650 units; and part of the imported Model S and Model X electric vehicles, totaling 63 units.
