Tesla's annual sales saw a decline for the first time, with fourth-quarter deliveries hitting a record high but still falling short of expectations, dropping over 5% in pre-market trading

On January 2nd, Wednesday, Eastern Time, Tesla announced its vehicle delivery data for the full year and the fourth quarter of 2024. The data shows that Tesla delivered 495,570 vehicles in the fourth quarter, below analysts' expected delivery of 512,277 vehicles. In the fourth quarter, Model 3/Model Y deliveries were 471,930 vehicles, while analysts expected deliveries of 484,575 vehicles.

Other models delivered in the fourth quarter totaled 23,640 vehicles, with two analysts expecting deliveries of 26,475 vehicles. The fourth quarter production was 459,445 vehicles, while analysts expected 505,239 vehicles. Model 3/Model Y production in the fourth quarter was 436,718 vehicles, with analysts expecting production of 481,306 vehicles. Other models' production in the fourth quarter was 22,727 vehicles, with analysts expecting production of 22,790 vehicles.

Tesla's stock price fell by 5% in pre-market trading.
