Goldman Sachs analyst Jack McFerran cited data from Sensor Tower, revealing that in the fourth quarter of 2024, downloads of the "Meta View" app surged by 200% year-on-year. These glasses, priced at around $300, have become a popular choice for consumers during the Christmas shopping season.
McFerran also unveiled Meta's roadmap for future wearable products. It is expected that by 2027, Meta will release true augmented reality glasses and consider opening the Orion prototype to software developers in 2026.
At the same time, Meta is also researching advanced headphone prototypes, which will be equipped with cameras and have functionalities similar to the existing Ray-Ban Meta frames, but face some challenges in visibility.
According to the company's data forecast, by 2028, sales of Meta's wearable devices will contribute 5% to overall revenue, a significant increase from 1.2% in the previous quarter.
