According to Zhitong Finance APP, on April 1st, in response to the report that the Xiaomi (01810) SU7 "exploded after colliding on the highway, resulting in casualties," Xiaomi's automotive customer service personnel stated that the company has established a special working group to rush to the scene and will fully cooperate with the police and families to conduct a detailed reconstruction investigation of the accident, assisting families in handling subsequent situations, and will announce the findings based on the actual investigation results through official channels. It is understood that the accident vehicle was the standard version of the SU7. As for the cause of the accident, the number of casualties, and other details, the customer service stated that no further information has been obtained yet.
Previously, videos and images exposed online showed that a new energy vehicle in Anhui collided with the highway's central guardrail and caught fire, with another burned vehicle frame indicating that the accident vehicle was a Xiaomi SU7, with the front end almost completely destroyed. Earlier reports from the media mentioned that a netizen claiming to be a family member of the vehicle's occupants stated, "On the night of March 29, the vehicle collided with the guardrail, causing the doors to lock, and the battery exploded, resulting in three people being burned alive in the vehicle."
On the morning of April 1st, relevant staff from the Tongling Emergency Management Bureau stated that this accident was a single-party responsibility accident and also a road traffic accident, not classified as a production safety accident. The traffic police brigade had reported this situation to the bureau after the accident occurred, and the traffic police have confirmed it as a single-party traffic accident.
