The Nasdaq Biotechnology Index dropped 6.1%, with constituent stock uniQure NV initially closing down 27.69%, Sarepta Therapeutics down 26.45%, Lexeo Therapeutics down 26.29% ranking third from the bottom, while CorMedix rose 23.59%.
The Nasdaq 100 Index initially closed down 0.7%, with Palantir down 11.99%, Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX) down 10.6%, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals down 7.6%, DoorDash down 7.3%, Grail down 6.2%, and Gilead Sciences down 4.8% ranking sixth in decline. Arm Holdings and AppLovin rose by more than 0.9% at most, while nuclear power concept stock CEG rose 10.4%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average initially closed down more than 300 points, with constituent stocks Merck, Amgen, and UnitedHealth at least down about 2.5% leading the decline, Honeywell down 2%, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan down more than 1%, McDonald's rose 0.38% ranking second, and VZ rose 1.5%
