Global production reached 272,972 units, marking a slight decrease of 0.4% year-on-year, continuing a downward trend for the third consecutive month. In Japan, production fell by 11.3% to 76,884 units, while overseas production rose by 4.6% to 196,088 units, driven by a record high production in India. Indian production increased by 6.1% to 179,892 units, continuing an upward trend for the seventh consecutive month. Global sales for April totaled 255,656 units, showing a 1.3% decline year-on-year and marking the second consecutive month of decline. However, Japan's domestic sales rose by 4.9% to 58,574 units, driven by increased sales of mini vehicles and standard and small vehicles. Overseas sales decreased by 3.0% to 197,082 units, attributed to a decline in sales in Europe despite growth in India. Exports saw a significant drop, with only 16,325 units exported, representing a 28.4% decline year-on-year and a continued decrease for the fourth consecutive month, primarily due to reduced exports to Europe.
