In May, Toyota's global sales reached nearly 900,000 vehicles, setting a new historical record
Toyota Motor reported that global sales in May reached 898,721 vehicles, setting a historical record with a year-on-year increase of 6.9%. The main reason for the significant increase in the company's vehicle sales is the strong demand in the North American, Chinese, and Japanese markets. In May, the company's deliveries in the United States surged nearly 11% year-on-year, while sales in its home market of Japan grew by 4.4%.
Despite facing a 25% tariff on U.S. automobiles (a policy that continues to suppress the Japanese auto industry), Toyota still achieved its best sales record in May. However, due to supply chain constraints and trade tensions, the company's global production in May declined by 0.7%, marking the first drop in five months
