Google terminates recipe pilot project, creators worry about reduced traffic
In recent months, Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., has tested the "Recipe Quick View" feature, which displays content from some food bloggers in search results. The company stated that this feature is designed to help users determine whether they are interested in a recipe before visiting a website. However, some bloggers expressed concerns that the product would prevent users from clicking through to their websites, thereby depriving them of traffic and advertising revenue. Google confirmed on Tuesday that it has terminated the experiment. A Google spokesperson stated in a statement, "We are constantly experimenting with different ways to make it easier for people to find useful information in Google Search. The lessons learned from these experiments help guide future development and work."
