Beer maker Constellation lost $20 million due to aluminum can tariffs
Constellation (STZ.US) Chief Financial Officer Garth Hankinson stated during an investor conference call on Wednesday that the aluminum tariffs have cost the company approximately $20 million for the fiscal year ending in February this year.
He also mentioned that the tariffs did not affect the performance for the first fiscal quarter ending May 31, but will put pressure on future profit margins. The company expects it will not be able to fully offset the additional costs, leading to a decline in profit margins of about 20 basis points
