
TSMC will accelerate chip production in the United States to meet demand
Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US) Chairman Wei Zhejia stated on Thursday that due to the rising demand from major customers in the United States, the company is working to accelerate its mass production plans by several quarters.
The company previously committed to investing a total of $165 billion in advanced semiconductor manufacturing in the United States. As part of its investment in the U.S., Taiwan Semiconductor is constructing six advanced wafer manufacturing plants, two advanced packaging manufacturing plants, and one research and development center in Arizona
