Foreign media reports indicate that Intel (INTC.US) is facing obstacles in the key manufacturing processes of its next-generation PC chips.
The report states that in the Panther Lake chips printed using the 18A process, only a small portion meets the quality standards for delivery to customers, meaning the yield remains very low. Intel's previous goal was to increase the yield to over 50% before ramping up production, as increasing production too early could harm its profit margins
