
Google invests $1 billion to provide artificial intelligence training to American universities and others
Alphabet (GOOG.US) announced on Wednesday a three-year commitment worth $1 billion to provide artificial intelligence training and tools to higher education institutions and non-profit organizations in the United States, with over 100 universities already signing the agreement.
Participating schools may receive cash grants and resources, such as cloud computing credits for student AI training and research on AI-related topics. The $1 billion also includes the value of paid AI tools, such as the premium version of the Gemini chatbot, which Google will provide for free to university students
