KWG GROUP has been petitioned for liquidation by Shandong Sunshine New World Microfinance Co., Ltd., involving an outstanding guaranteed amount of approximately RMB 642 million and accrued interest of approximately RMB 136 million. According to the announcement from KWG GROUP (01813), the company has learned that Shandong Sunshine New World Microfinance Co., Ltd. (the petitioner) filed a winding-up petition against the company with the High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on August 11, 2025. The petition concerns an unpaid amount of approximately RMB 642 million and accrued interest of approximately RMB 136 million provided as a guarantee by the company.
The filing of the petition does not mean that the petitioner will successfully wind up the company. As of the date of this announcement, the High Court has not issued a winding-up order to wind up the company. The High Court has scheduled the first hearing date for the petition on October 22, 2025
