PLANETREE INT'L issues a profit warning, expecting a mid-term consolidated pre-tax profit of approximately HKD 99.4 million
PLANETREE INT'L expects an unaudited consolidated profit before tax of approximately HKD 99.4 million for the six months ending June 30, 2025, a significant improvement compared to a loss of HKD 94.2 million in the same period of 2024. The profit during the period was mainly influenced by unrealized gains on financial assets, changes in the fair value of equity investments, reversals of impairment losses on receivable margin loans, and profits from associated companies
According to the announcement from PLANETREE INT'L (00613), the group expects to achieve an unaudited consolidated pre-tax profit of approximately HKD 99.4 million for the six months ending June 30, 2025, compared to an unaudited consolidated pre-tax loss of approximately HKD 94.2 million for the six months ending June 30, 2024.
The profit during the period is mainly due to the combined effects of the following factors: (i) net unrealized gains on financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss of approximately HKD 33.7 million; (ii) fair value gains on equity investments of approximately HKD 45.4 million; (iii) reversal of impairment losses on receivable margin loans of approximately HKD 36.5 million; (iv) share of profits from associates of approximately HKD 39.2 million; (v) fair value losses on investment properties of HKD 67 million
