
Gold strengthens ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest rate record announcement
Due to the weakening of the US dollar, gold prices rose nearly 1% on Wednesday, while market participants are focusing on the minutes from the last policy meeting of the US central bank and the upcoming Jackson Hole symposium for clues on future interest rate trends.
Spot gold rose 0.9% to $3,343.4 per ounce. December gold futures rose $26 or 0.8% to $3,384.7 per ounce.
September silver prices rose 1.2% to $37.8 per ounce.
September copper prices rose 0.4% to $4.44 per pound.
October platinum prices rose 2.2% to $1,341 per ounce.
September palladium prices rose 0.5% to $1,117 per ounce
