On Wednesday (August 20), the Vietnam Stock Exchange Index rose by 0.61%, closing at 1664.36 points, continuing to set a new historical closing high. It experienced a V-shaped reversal throughout the day, opening at 1672.70 points, which marked a new intraday historical high. The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange/VN 30 Index rose by 0.99%, closing at 1828.46 points, also continuing to set a new historical closing high and intraday historical high. The Vietnamese Dong depreciated by 0.21% against the US dollar, trading at 26368 VND as of 23:54 Beijing time, and fell to 26376 VND at 17:50 Beijing time, continuing to set a historical low. The Thai SET Index rose by 1.00%, while the Malaysia FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index fell by 0.13%.
