Tech giants prepare to challenge artificial intelligence regulations in various U.S. states
Including OpenAI, Meta Platforms Inc., and Alphabet Inc.'s Google, technology companies are stepping up efforts to prevent U.S. states from regulating their rapidly growing and profitable artificial intelligence businesses. After five states, including Texas and California, passed significant AI-related laws, these tech giants are simultaneously pressuring the White House and the Republican-led Congress, which are friendly towards AI. "Lawmakers should encourage innovation, not drive it out of their states," said Kouri Marshall, the state government relations director of the tech industry trade group Chamber of Progress, whose members include venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, Google, Apple, and Amazon.
