The new national standard for electric scooters will be implemented on September 1, which improves the requirements for speed tampering prevention
Tomorrow, September 1st, the new national standard for electric bicycles will be officially implemented. The new standard stipulates that to enhance the range, the maximum weight for lithium battery electric bicycles is 55 kilograms, while the weight for lead-acid battery models is increased from 55 kilograms to 63 kilograms. Manufacturers are required to improve braking performance. The tamper-proof requirements for controllers must be enhanced, and if the speed exceeds 25 kilometers per hour, the motor will no longer provide power. The proportion of plastic materials in the total vehicle weight must not exceed 5.5% to reduce fire risks; the installation of rearview mirrors is encouraged to reduce the "turning back rate." It is required to have Beidou positioning functionality. However, private "little electric donkeys" can choose not to install the Beidou module, and even if they have Beidou positioning functionality, it can be turned off, with positioning services being free
