On September 16, Intel announced that Wang Rui, the Chairwoman of Intel China, will retire this month. Intel stated that this is a planned management transition following the appointment of Wang Zhicong in February of this year. It is understood that Wang Rui is the first female Chairwoman of Intel China, having joined Intel in 1994, and previously served as the General Manager of Global Customers for Intel Huawei. Additionally, she has held positions such as General Manager of the Technical Support Division and Vice President of the Platform Engineering Division, as well as General Manager of the Integrated Signal IP Solutions Division. In 2021, Wang Rui was appointed as the Chairwoman of Intel China. In its latest statement, Intel said, "Wang Rui redefined Intel's strategy in China, upgraded the organizational structure, led multiple new initiatives, and promoted deep collaboration with global operations to enhance support for the Chinese market." An Intel employee once commented, "Wang Rui is the executive who understands the China business best, and under her leadership, the Intel China leadership team has been given greater empowerment." In an interview after her appointment as Chairwoman in 2021, Wang Rui stated that Intel is establishing a mechanism to make China's market demands an indispensable part of global planning. "Previously, we just brought the most advanced technology from the U.S. to the market, but we are now fundamentally incorporating the demands of the China region into Intel's long-term planning."
