WeChat Pay HK expands the coverage of Hong Kong dollar payments to Taobao

WeChat Pay HK announced that starting today (22nd), it will expand the coverage of Hong Kong dollar payments to Taobao, allowing users to automatically convert their RMB transactions on Taobao to HKD settlements with zero transaction fees.

Hong Dan Yi, Vice President of Tencent Financial Technology, stated that they will continue to actively expand cooperation with local and overseas online shopping platforms to provide Hong Kong users with more convenient and diverse payment options.

Additionally, during the promotional period from now until October 31st, WeChat Pay HK users can enjoy discounts worth up to HKD 120 for eligible transactions on Taobao using qualifying Visa cards
