
Hong Kong Stock Midday Review | Hang Seng Index fell 1.61% in the morning session, gas stocks rose against the trend

The Hong Kong Hang Seng Index fell 1.61% in the morning session, reporting 25,472 points, while the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 2.81%. Gas stocks rose against the trend as the peak season for natural gas demand approaches. Zhongyu Energy surged over 10%, and the newly listed stock Xuan Bamboo Biotechnology-B rose over 13%. Medical stocks showed mixed performance, with WuXi AppTec-B increasing over 21%. WANDA HOTEL DEV rose over 10%, completing its sale and will distribute a special dividend. According to Zhitong Finance APP, the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index fell by 1.61%, down 415 points, closing at 25,472 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped by 2.81%. The turnover of Hong Kong stocks in the morning session was HKD 153.2 billion.
Gas stocks rose. Zhongyu Energy (03633) increased by over 10%. In response to the continuous drop in temperature, Gansu and other regions have started winter heating work in advance, and with the winter heating mode activated, the peak season for natural gas demand has arrived.
New stock Xuan Zhu Bio-B (02575) rose by over 13%, setting a new listing high, up more than 190% from the offering price.
Yimai Sunshine (02522) increased by over 4%, as Yinghe Medical launched the global debut of its medical imaging base model product AIR.
The performance of medical stocks showed differentiation. WuXi AppTec-B (02617.HK) rose by over 21%; Baize Medical (02609) increased by over 5%; Kangfang Biologics (09926) fell by 2%. CStone Pharmaceuticals-B (09966) rose by over 13%, having previously announced plans for an on-market share buyback, with the market focusing on key data from the ESMO conference.
Laopu Gold (06181) rose by over 4% again, as efforts to expand and upgrade channels increased, with institutions indicating that rising gold prices are favorable for its high-end brand positioning.
WANDA HOTEL DEV (00169) rose by over 10%, completing the sale and will pay a special dividend of 46.2 HK cents next month.
Delin Holdings (01709) rose by over 3%, having signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Antalpha to jointly promote business in the digital asset field.
Changfei Optical Fiber and Cable (06869) fell by over 6% again, having dropped 40% from its September peak, with both fiber volume and price declining and shareholders liquidating their positions dragging down the stock price.
Cryptocurrency concept stocks collectively fell. Bitcoin prices have fluctuated sharply recently, with a sudden incident in the US stablecoin market. Mi Strategy (02440) fell by 4.36%; OSL Group (00863) dropped by 3.99%.
Chip stocks continued to decline. SMIC (00981) fell by over 5%, Huahong (01347) dropped by over 3%, as US export controls accelerate semiconductor domestic substitution
