
JD.com aims to unleash the consumption potential of the elderly, with a year-on-year growth of 228% in transactions of senior-friendly products this year
According to domestic media reports, JD.com (09618.HK) has launched the "Filial Piety and Elderly Shopping Festival" to tap into the potential of the silver-haired consumer market. It is reported that this year, the supply of elderly-friendly products in JD.com's home appliances and furniture category has increased by over 100% year-on-year, expanding to 87 elderly-friendly categories, covering more than 3,000 brands, with over 500,000 elderly-friendly products available. Since the beginning of this year, the number of users purchasing elderly-friendly products on JD.com has increased by 228% year-on-year.
JD.com's home appliances and furniture division has introduced four major initiatives for its elderly-friendly business, continuously optimizing and upgrading comprehensive home care solutions through the establishment of elderly-friendly standards, upgrading the elderly-friendly supply chain, precise marketing for filial piety and elderly users, and enhancing offline scenario experiences for the elderly. JD.com plans to continue promoting centralized procurement of elderly-friendly products, with a planned procurement quantity exceeding 1 million items and a procurement amount exceeding 500 million yuan
