Aviation media outlet The Air Current reported, citing sources, that Boeing (BA.US) received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration last week to conduct the largest third phase assessment of its 777-9 widebody aircraft certification flight tests, which consists of five major phases.

Reuters reported that a Boeing spokesperson stated via email that the company continues to work under the supervision of the Federal Aviation Administration to meet all certification requirements.

In addition, Boeing had previously received permission from authorities to increase the monthly production limit of the 737 MAX aircraft from 38 to 42 units
