"Commodity" Gold prices hovered at a seven-week high on Friday, while silver retreated

Driven by the weakening of the US dollar and the Federal Reserve's interest rate cut this week, gold prices hovered near a seven-week high on Friday. Spot gold rose by $19 or 0.5% to $4,299.6 per ounce. February futures gold prices increased by $15.3 or 0.4% to $4,328.3 per ounce.

Spot silver prices retreated by 2.5% to $61.96 per ounce. March futures silver prices fell by 4% to $62.007 per ounce.

March futures copper prices dropped by 2.6% to $5.359 per pound.

January futures platinum prices rose by 2.9% to $1,762.5 per ounce.

March futures palladium prices slightly decreased to $1,542.7 per ounce
