The U.S. government has halted the offshore wind power project off the coast of Virginia, as well as four other projects on the East Coast, dealing a significant blow to the wind power industry.
As a result of the news, the stock price of Dominion Energy (D.US), which is responsible for developing the project, fell by more than 5%.
In addition, the government has also suspended leases for Vineyard Wind 1 off the coast of Massachusetts, Revolution Wind off the coast of Rhode Island, Sunrise Wind off Long Island and New England, and Empire Wind 1 south of Long Island
