The Nasdaq 100 Index preliminarily closed up 0.5%, with components such as Synopsys (SNPS), Micron Technology, and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) rising over 3%. 
Honeywell fell 1.6%, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) fell 2.3%, Starbucks fell 2.4%, and Seagate Technology fell 4.6%. 
Merck preliminarily closed up 3.6%, with JP Morgan, Salesforce, and Nvidia rising at least 1.4%, leading the Dow components, while Walmart, Honeywell, and Nike fell by up to 2.5%
