Regarding the behavior of slandering and attacking Xiaomi car owners, Lei Jun: Absolutely will not tolerate it
Xiaomi Corporation-W (01810.HK) founder and chairman Lei Jun disassembled Xiaomi's second model YU7 during the first live broadcast of 2026. In response to external doubts about the materials used in car manufacturing, he stated that Xiaomi is determined to seriously report and complain about the "black water army." If a Xiaomi car owner is attacked, the owner will be assisted in defending their rights when reporting to the community. Regarding the behavior of slandering and attacking Xiaomi car owners, Lei Jun said that "small character marketing" is an industry bad habit that Xiaomi will change; he also admitted feeling helpless about being attacked and will take reports and complaints seriously, paying attention to the voices of real users, and will never tolerate slander and defamation.
During the live broadcast, Lei Jun disassembled a Xiaomi YU7 standard version that had just rolled off the production line in December 2025. Xiaomi's chairman's special assistant and public relations department manager Xu Jieyun responded to the "Green Belt War God" by stating that someone had deliberately collected clips of Xiaomi car accidents and then spliced them together to attack. Lei Jun called for more bloggers to disassemble Xiaomi's cars. He emphasized that people cannot go against their conscience to say false content and particularly hopes everyone can speak fairly, without exaggerating or deliberately finding faults for traffic.
When discussing "why the Xiaomi car YU7 is designed with a long hood," Xiaomi's chief designer Li Tianyuan responded that he believes the proportion of car design is the soul, which has always been adhered to in Xiaomi's car design. The long hood is actually an aesthetic symbol that has been present in industrial design for a century, representing a century of aesthetic accumulation. Lei Jun added that the benefit of Xiaomi cars adopting a "long hood" design is that the front trunk space is large, and the safety distance (collision buffer zone) is therefore extended
