Three Democratic senators in the United States are calling on Apple and Google to remove the X and Grok apps from their app stores, at least until their owner Elon Musk prohibits users from using these platforms to create and disseminate non-consensual explicit images and content depicting child sexual abuse. In an open letter sent on Friday to Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Senators Ron Wyden from Oregon, Ed Markey from Massachusetts, and Ben Ray Luján from New Mexico stated that the two tech giants should "immediately remove the X and Grok apps from the app stores until the company's CEO Elon Musk addresses these disturbing and potentially illegal activities."
