Alibaba Qianwen officially announced: An APP launch conference will be held on January 15, AI will "open the era of handling affairs"

On the morning of the 15th, Alibaba Qianwen held the "Ask and You Shall Receive" product launch conference at 10 a.m., marking the official transition of AI large models from a single "Q&A tool" to a new era of "action execution." Backed by Alibaba Cloud's absolute advantage with a 35.8% share of the Chinese AI cloud market, this strategic upgrade not only signifies the beginning of the intelligent agent era but also represents Alibaba Cloud's key move to seize 80% of the AI cloud incremental market by 2026
Alibaba officially announced that its large model product Qianwen will hold a product launch event titled "Questions Answered" at 10 AM on January 15, showcasing how AI can "open the era of action." This marks a key transformation of AI applications from Q&A to action execution.

A few days ago, Alibaba created momentum for this launch event at its global headquarters in Xixi, Hangzhou, with the C Zone of the park lit up displaying the slogan "From Question To Action" and the Qianwen logo, previewing the "opening of the era of action." This is another significant move following the launch of the Qianwen code tool Qwen Code's VSCode plugin and TypeScript SDK last December.

The signals released by this launch event indicate that Qianwen is evolving from a single conversational Q&A tool to an intelligent agent capable of executing specific tasks, aligning with Alibaba Cloud's expansion goals in the AI cloud market.
According to data from market research firm Omdia, the overall market size of AI cloud in China is expected to reach 22.3 billion yuan in the first half of 2025, with Alibaba Cloud accounting for 35.8%, surpassing the combined total of the second to fourth places. Liu Weiguang, Senior Vice President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group and President of the Public Cloud Division, previously revealed that the company's goal is to capture 80% of the incremental growth in China's AI cloud market by 2026.
Product Leap from Q&A to Action
The positioning of "From Question To Action" indicates that Qianwen is attempting to break through the functional boundaries of traditional AI assistants. The "Questions Answered" launch event is expected to introduce independent application products aimed at end users, rather than just tools or API services for developers.
According to a previous article from Wallstreetcn, at the end of December last year, the Qianwen code tool Qwen Code released version 0.5.0, introducing a VSCode plugin and TypeScript SDK, allowing developers to use its code generation and intelligent Q&A capabilities in the IDE environment for the first time. This update has been described by the official as a key transformation from "command line tools" to a "development ecosystem."
This technological groundwork provides infrastructure support for Qianwen's extension into execution capabilities. Developers can programmatically integrate Qianwen's intelligence into web or mobile applications, enabling automatic website generation, translation, drawing, and other functions At the same time, domestic large models are making strides. Reports indicate that DeepSeek will release its next-generation AI model V4 in February. Preliminary internal tests at DeepSeek show that V4 surpasses other top models currently on the market, such as Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's GPT series, which undoubtedly marks another significant achievement for the company in the AI field.
Full-Stack Competition in the AI Cloud Market
Alibaba Cloud's leading position in the AI cloud market provides strategic support for the upgrade of its Qianwen product. Liu Weiguang, Senior Vice President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligent Group and President of the Public Cloud Division, stated in a media interview that 10% of the incremental growth in 2026 will exceed the total growth of the previous year, "the changes have just begun."
Among the customers using the large model API (MaaS service) on Alibaba Cloud, 70% are also utilizing its GPU computing power services. Liu Weiguang believes that the changes brought by AI to the cloud computing industry have only just begun, and the entire cloud computing architecture needs to be restructured for AI.
He pointed out that the growth potential of MaaS is significant, but the key is to win the total market for new AI cloud services, which requires establishing a soft and hard integrated full-stack capability for AI cloud, enabling enterprises to access stronger AI models at lower costs, "this is the decisive factor in competition." The evolution of Qianwen from Q&A to action products is a concrete manifestation of this full-stack strategy at the application level
