Honda reveals an affordable, solar-powered camper that’s built with EVs in mind
Honda has unveiled the Base Station Prototype, an affordable solar-powered travel trailer designed for towing by various vehicles, including electric vehicles (EVs). This innovative trailer aims to make outdoor adventures accessible to more people, featuring a lightweight design and competitive pricing. Developed by Honda's teams in California and Ohio, it can be towed by popular models like the CR-V and Toyota RAV4, as well as Honda's upcoming electric SUV models.
Honda wants to bring out the inner camper in all of us with a new “competitively priced” travel trailer. The Base Station Prototype, revealed on Wednesday, is designed to be towed by nearly any vehicle, including EVs.
Meet the Honda Base Station, a practical travel trailer
The Base Station Prototype is “an entirely new towable travel trailer,” Honda said after revealing it for the first time on Wednesday.
Honda’s engineers and designers in California and Ohio, the same ones behind the Motocompacto e-scooter, created the futuristic prototype to “democratize outdoor adventures” with a lightweight design and affordable price.
According to Honda, the travel trailer is designed to be towed by some of the most popular vehicles in America, like the CR-V and Toyota RAV4, as well as EVs such as the Prologue and upcoming 0 Series electric SUV.
