JU TENG INTL customer data suspected of leakage, will hire cybersecurity consultants for assessment
JU TENG INTL (03336.HK) announced that on Wednesday (14th), it discovered a post on the "dark web" (i.e., underground forums) claiming that some of the group's laptops had been subjected to a cyber attack, resulting in the sale of names of related clients, related projects, contact information of related clients and suppliers, and related product information.
Upon discovering the incident, the group immediately took action to ascertain the situation and the extent of the data security breach. The group has initiated a thorough investigation and will hire a cybersecurity consulting firm to assess the extent of unauthorized access and data leakage; the root cause of the incident; and to conduct a comprehensive review of the security of the group's systems and servers.
The group stated that the aforementioned investigation is still ongoing, and it has not yet been able to determine the extent of unauthorized access; whether any other data or information of the group has been leaked; and the extent and content of such leakage (if any). After the investigation is completed, the group will take appropriate further action based on the relevant results
