Jensen Huang Makes Another Move! NVIDIA Invests $2 Billion in Marvell, Boosting AI Integration for 5G/6G Networks
Marvell will provide customized XPUs (accelerated processors) and expansion network solutions compatible with NVLink Fusion for the NVIDIA ecosystem, while the two companies will jointly research and develop silicon photonics technology and 5G/6G network fields
NVIDIA announced a $2 billion investment in Marvell Technology, incorporating it into its AI infrastructure ecosystem. The news immediately propelled Marvell's US stock up by over 11% in pre-market trading.

This investment is framed as a strategic partnership, with the core objective of integrating Marvell into NVIDIA's AI factory and AI-RAN ecosystem through NVLink Fusion. The collaboration will offer customers greater choice and flexibility when building next-generation infrastructure.
Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, stated in a release: "Demand for token generation is surging, and the world is racing to build AI factories. By partnering with Marvell, we will help customers fully leverage NVIDIA's AI infrastructure ecosystem to scale and build specialized AI computing power." Matt Murphy, CEO of Marvell, also commented that the expanded cooperation "reflects the increasing importance of high-speed interconnects, optical interconnects, and accelerated infrastructure in scaling AI."
Partnership Framework: Comprehensive Integration from Chips to Networks
According to the cooperation agreement, Marvell will provide customized XPUs (accelerated processors) and expansion network solutions compatible with NVLink Fusion for the NVIDIA ecosystem. Concurrently, both companies will engage in joint research and development in silicon photonics technology and 5G/6G network fields.
This arrangement signifies that Marvell's products will be deeply embedded within the AI infrastructure chain led by NVIDIA. When deploying AI factories, customers can directly utilize Marvell's customized computing power and interconnect solutions, thereby reducing system integration complexity.
NVIDIA's $2 Billion Consecutive Investments
This investment in Marvell is one of NVIDIA's recent strategic bets of a similar scale. According to CNBC, NVIDIA has previously invested $2 billion each in Synopsys, CoreWeave, Coherent, Lumentum, and Nebius Group. Notably, AI cloud computing company Nebius just disclosed plans this week to build large-scale data centers in Europe.
This series of investments outlines NVIDIA's strategic logic: using capital as a bond to lock in upstream and downstream key technology partners within its own ecosystem, forming a layout that covers the entire AI infrastructure chain, from chip design tools and cloud computing platforms to optical interconnect devices.
Marvell: Another Major Winner in the AI Wave
Marvell itself has been a significant beneficiary of the current AI infrastructure investment boom. The company's previously released earnings guidance exceeded market expectations, and it anticipates that revenue growth driven by AI demand will accelerate and continue through 2027, a piece of news that has already led to a significant increase in its stock price this month.
NVIDIA's investment further strengthens market confidence in Marvell's position in AI interconnects and custom computing power. The 11% single-day surge indicates that investors view this strategic investment as a strong endorsement of Marvell's technological roadmap, rather than a mere financial transaction.
