Fed Official Schmid Warns: US Inflation May Stay Stuck Around 3%
Kansas City Federal Reserve President Schmid warned that the Federal Reserve should not ignore the impact of soaring energy prices due to the Iran conflict on inflation. Schmid said in a speech prepared for an event in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, "This oil shock comes at a time when inflation has persisted at too high a level for too long. Given that inflation is already red hot, we should not assume that the inflation from rising oil prices is only temporary."
