Google announced at the I/O 2026 Developer Conference that it will deeply integrate artificial intelligence into its ecosystem, marking the largest overhaul of its search engine in 25 years. Users can input complex questions or upload files through the search box, and AI will assist in building search content in real-time. In addition, Google launched a new AI tool called "Information Agent," which helps users browse websites and social media independently, expected to be available to subscribers in the summer of 2026

According to Zhitong Finance APP, Google (GOOGL.US, GOOG.US), a subsidiary of Alphabet, is further integrating artificial intelligence into its ecosystem. At the Google I/O 2026 Developer Conference, CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the company has entered a new phase where users now expect AI to create "real value" in everyday products.

Pichai revealed that Google currently has 13 products with over 1 billion users. Among them, Google Search, Gmail, Android, Google Chrome, and YouTube have all surpassed 3 billion global users.

One of the most anticipated updates at this conference is the largest overhaul of Google Search in 25 years. Unlike the previous approach of launching AI tools separately, Google has chosen to integrate AI directly into the core search box this time.

In the future, users will not only be able to input longer and more complex questions but also upload images, videos, documents, and even Chrome tabs, while AI will assist users in constructing search content and question logic in real-time.

Google executives stated that the company's goal is to completely eliminate the switching barrier between traditional search and AI conversational modes. Elizabeth Reid, head of Google Search, mentioned that users no longer want to deliberately distinguish between "traditional search" and "AI mode."

In addition to the search upgrade, Google has also launched a new AI tool called "Information Agents." These AI agents can autonomously browse websites, e-commerce platforms, and social media based on user needs, helping to complete tasks such as finding apartments and tracking product prices. This feature is expected to be available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscription users in the summer of 2026
