AI infrastructure service provider Core Scientific announced a partnership agreement with chip manufacturer AMD, leading to a pre-market stock price surge of approximately 5%.

The initial phase of the agreement stipulates that AMD will lease 500 megawatts of data center computing power resources from Core Scientific by 2027, with AMD chips deployed within the data centers for use by AMD's end customers. The total scale of this cooperation agreement can be expanded to a maximum of 2.5 gigawatts of computing power in the long term.
