Elon Musk stated that the new Terafab semiconductor factory located in Texas will serve both Tesla's Optimus robot and SpaceX's AI spacecraft. The factory will have an annual AI computing power output of approximately 1 terawatt at full capacity, with 25% supplied to Tesla and 75% to SpaceX. The first phase of the project will create 3,000 jobs, with a total of ten phases planned. Musk mentioned that building large new projects in California is effectively illegal, hence the choice of Texas as the location

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk stated that the new Terafab semiconductor manufacturing plant in Grimes County, Texas, will serve both Tesla's "Optimus" robot and SpaceX's "AI spacecraft."

On Thursday local time, the "Tesla Silicon Valley Owners" account on the X platform released a promotional video for the Terafab plant, claiming that the facility will "produce over 1 terawatt of AI computing power annually" and will be a key part of Tesla's future development vision.

In response to this post, Musk estimated, "I roughly estimate that about 25% of the AI computing power produced by Terafab will supply Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot, and about 75% will supply the AI spacecraft." It is noteworthy that Terafab aims to achieve an annual AI computing capacity of 1 terawatt at full capacity.

Musk also replied to a post from user Gavin Beck on the X platform. The user stated that the plant will create over 3,000 jobs in Texas. Musk responded, "By the way, 3,000 jobs is just the scale of the first phase; the entire project has a total of ten phases."

He also explained why the factory was chosen to be built in Texas rather than California. California was once Tesla's headquarters, and the Fremont factory is still located there, where the "Optimus" humanoid robot is currently being produced.

Musk stated, "In California, large new construction projects are effectively illegal." However, he did not provide further details to support this claim
