From January to June, BYD sold 641,350 NEVs, up 314.9 percent from 154,579 units in the same period last year.
BYD (SHE: 002594, HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDF) sold a record 134,036 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in June, the fourth consecutive month with more than 100,000 units, according to figures released by the company today.
That's up 224.02 percent from 41,366 units a year ago and up 16.61 percent from 114,943 units in May.

BYD discontinued production and sales of conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in March to focus on producing battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs).
The company sold 133,762 new energy passenger vehicles in June, including 69,544 BEVs and 64,218 PHEVs. It sold 274 new energy commercial vehicles in June.
From January to June, BYD sold 641,350 NEVs, up 314.9 percent from 154,579 units in the same period last year.
BYD produced 134,771 NEVs in June, including 134,497 passenger vehicles and 274 commercial vehicles. The new energy passenger vehicles included 68,195 BEVs and 66,302 PHEVs.
BYD's total installed power battery and energy storage battery capacity in June was 6.859 GWh, up 146.99 percent from 2.777 GWh in the same month last year and up 10.58 percent from 6.203 GWh in May.
So far this year, BYD's total installed capacity of power batteries is about 34.042 GWh.
The further increase in BYD's sales comes as more of its vehicle assembly, as well as component production bases, are put into operation.
BYD's battery manufacturing arm FinDreams Battery's power battery base in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province in East China, saw its first production line open on June 14.
The first phase of the project, with an investment of RMB 7 billion and a site area of about 800 mu (0.53 square kilometers), is designed to build 15 GWh of annual power battery capacity for BYD's DMi series models.
The second phase of the project, with an investment of about RMB 6 billion and a site area of about 1,000 mu, will have an annual capacity of 15 GWh of power batteries.
On June 30, BYD's production base in Hefei, East China's Anhui province, saw the first vehicles the hybrid Qin Plus DM-i models, roll off the production line.
The production base is BYD's sixth in China, and the first vehicle rolled off the line less than a year after construction of the plant began on August 28 last year.
The site currently produces only the Qin Plus DM-i, while core components such as engines, motors and assemblies are also produced in addition to the complete vehicle.
