<p>要知道在此之前，這是亞馬遜面向未來創新探索的重要一環，是圍繞無人超市、無人機配送等在內的重要構成。</p>

<p>亞馬遜的這個項目，取名<strong>Scout</strong>，之前一直處於測試狀態。</p>
<p>但團隊已經是一個不小的團隊，400 多人的規模，各項資源投入也不菲。</p>
<p>亞馬遜一度也集中了精兵強將進入到這個創新項目，現如今只能在關停後內部轉崗。</p>
<p>領英公開資料顯示，已有團隊成員打算離開亞馬遜，尋找新的工作機會。</p>

<p>究其關停原因，亞馬遜發言人艾麗莎·卡羅爾（Alisa Carroll）表示：</p>

<p>一句話總結就是，現階段 Scout 無人車做得還不夠好。</p>
<p>外部原因則可以參照亞馬遜最近的零售額。</p>
<p>財報數據顯示，今年 Q1 亞馬遜淨零售額為 1164 億美元，同比增長<strong>7%</strong>；今年 Q2 淨零售額為 1212 億美元，同比增長還是<strong>7%</strong>。</p>

<p>放到去年和前年對比來看，2021 年 Q1 淨零售額同比增長 44%，2021 年 Q2 淨零售額同比增長 27%；2020 年 Q1 淨零售額同比增長 26%，2020 年 Q2 淨零售額同比增長 40%。</p>
<p>可以看到的是，零售作為亞馬遜的核心業務，增長正在明顯放緩。加之全球大環境都不算樂觀，作為創新項目，又短時間看不到剛需和回報，只能在這個階段被節流。</p>
<p>不止是無人配送車項目，比如專注於研發兒童視頻通話設備的<strong>Amazon Glow</strong>被叫停，提供遠程醫療服務的<strong>Amazon care</strong>項目也被砍掉。</p>

<p>防水、六輪、體積較小，由亞馬遜工程師在西雅圖實驗室開發、製造、組裝和編程。</p>
<p>車輪由堅固的材料製成，車身四周還配備了攝像頭、超聲波雷達和其他傳感器。</p>
<p>無人車一般在人行道上按既定路線慢速滑動，但如果被障礙物擋住，它會改為在街道上行駛。</p>

<p>過馬路時，無人車會開始閃光，目的是發出信號提醒騎行的人和來往車輛司機。</p>
<p>亞馬遜方面表示，Scout 無人車可以實時監測並繞開道路上的寵物、行人和各種障礙物。</p>
<p>他們表示，在實驗室內可以對技術進行快速驗證，能夠快速製作硬件原型組件並編寫新代碼，不需要等待軟件的更新。</p>

<p>該員工主要負責從無人車上取出快遞，並將它們放在各家門口的台階上。主要因為，Scout 無人車還<strong>不能自己上台階</strong>。</p>
<p>後來這項服務擴大到美國更多社區，包括加州爾灣、佐治亞州亞特蘭大、田納西州富蘭克林。</p>

<p>除此之外，Scout 無人車還曾與<strong>世界殘疾人研究所</strong>合作進行測試，以此來提高無人車與殘疾人之間的交互體驗。</p>
<p>總之，這個無人配送車雖然無法完全替代人類配送，但一定程度上看並非一無是處，特別還是人力成本高昂、地廣人稀，且對配送時效要求沒那麼嚴格的美國。</p>
<p>這也是亞馬遜關停無人配送車項目時，外界不理解的原因之一。</p>

<p>因為核心負責人前副總裁<strong>肖恩·斯科特</strong>（Sean Scott），在此之前已經走人了。</p>

<p>肖恩·斯科特在亞馬遜工作了長達 14 年 9 個月，其中有<strong>4 年多</strong>時間與 Scout 無人配送車相伴相隨，帶領整個團隊研發設備、系統和具體操作。去年 1 月他離開該項目，轉投美國一家雲計算公司 PagerDuty，擔任首席產品研發官。</p>
<p>他後來還表達過，無人配送車帶來的變革價值，與預期相比還有不小差距，以及認為雲計算帶來的產業價值或許更大。</p>
<p>這多少可能代表着亞馬遜高層的結論，與之相對應的是，在亞馬遜雖然砍掉了無人配送車項目，但對於空中無人配送——無人機配送項目——<strong>Amazon prime air</strong>的研發沒有一併關停，甚至投入還在加大。</p>

<h1>無人配送模式的探索現狀</h1>
<p>實際上，如果從落地和稀缺性而言，空中無人配送的優勢，比地面無人配送明顯太多。</p>
<p>首先，空中場景相對簡單，目標識別和避讓等方面的挑戰小很多，路徑規劃也更簡單直接，能夠做到更高效地配送。</p>

<p>其次，空中無人機配送提供的是增量價值，而地面無人配送存在與人類現有工作有替代的挑戰，有天然的 “敵人”，防火防盜防人破壞，而空中能夠率先配送高時效、高需求的物品——如藥品等等，更容易展現商業和社會價值，也更容易定價。</p>
<p>最後，雖然同樣面臨 “路權” 資質問題，但無人機配送瞄準的是低空領域，屬於空白地帶，而無人車卻需要改變現有的道路法規和責任認定，關聯更多更密。</p>

<p>當然，無人機配送也有對應的挑戰，比如低空多變的氣候因素，以及隨之而來的安全問題等等，更重要的是配送半徑也會受限——一旦市場需求撐不起來，最後很難實現營收平衡，這也是谷歌在無人機配送試運營之後選擇叫停的原因，地廣人稀之地真心不適合。</p>
<p>而在中國，無人配送車和無人機配送，兩種探索依然在並行推進。</p>
<p>得益於高密度的城市環境和市場需求，包括阿里、京東和美團等在內的科技零售相關公司都在探索，還有不少以此創業的明星公司。</p>
<p>其中美團是兩條腿並行推進最具代表性的公司，既有無人配送車的落地測試，並且在疫情防控中展現出價值，也有無人機配送——且已經在深圳落地商用。</p>

<p>所以如果之前被美團和阿里小蠻驢的進展所鼓舞，現在亞馬遜則帶來了一盆理性的冷水——特別是創業公司。</p>
<p>因為亞馬遜對無人配送車的關停，雖然是一家之決定，有具體影響因素。</p>
