Trump’s team, they’re saying they wanna scrap Biden’s AI chip export rules! 🤯 Remember those rules, the “Framework for Artificial Intelligence Diffusion”? Basically, they were trying to keep all the good AI chips in the US and with their friends, and block China from getting them.
Biden’s folks put it out in January, just before they left office, and companies were supposed to start following it from May 15th. But now, Trump’s people are like, “Nah, we’re changing that.” They’re even talking about ditching the whole “dividing the world into layers” thing, which was supposed to control how many of those super-advanced chips countries could get.
So, you gotta wonder, what’s gonna happen now?And what about China? This whole AI chip game is getting real messy, you know? 🤔
