Apple efficiently raised the price of the iPhone 17 Pro by eliminating the entry level option.

Previously: the cheapest Pro model was $999 with 128GB of storage. That option is gone.

Now: the entry-level starts at $1,099 with 256GB.

The Pro Max is unchanged at $1,199, though Apple added a 2TB option at $1,999 that almost no one will buy.

What matters: Pro buyers have historically skipped the 128GB option, so removing it won’t force many to spend more they were already doing that. This move will, however, fractionally improve margins by eliminating the SKU.
