TSMC fears are rising in Taiwan as 50% of the public are concerned about TSMC becoming “US-SMC”, and scholars say the US-SMC-ification of TSMC might already be a reality, media report, citing a poll by Taiwan’s top political science school, National Chenchi University. The paper quotes a professor saying President Trump has already achieved his goal of getting all of TSMC’s chip manufacturing process technology and advanced packaging technology so if anything bad happens to Taiwan, it won’t affect the US, but warned that without TSMC, Taiwan’s importance to the US will significantly decline. $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US) #semiconductors
