NASA initially proposed the concept of eVTOL, aiming to reduce urban traffic congestion and environmental pollution through electric aircraft. As a leader in this field, Joby Aviation has become a global leader in eVTOL technology since its establishment in 2009 and went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021 with a valuation of $6.6 billion.
Joby's eVTOL aircraft, model S4, combines the vertical take-off and landing capabilities of a helicopter with the efficient cruising characteristics of a fixed-wing aircraft. It features a tilt-rotor design, low noise, high safety, and high-energy-density batteries.
Joby has established partnerships with well-known companies such as Toyota, Uber, and Delta Air Lines, which provide financial support and help expand the market for its products and services. In particular, the collaboration with Uber will facilitate the growth of its products after marketization.
