The inevitability of pure electric vehicles and the long-term transitional necessity of hybrid vehicles coexist.
(Plug-in, range-extended) hybrids exist because it will take 20-30 years for household and public charging infrastructure, global electrified power distribution systems, and power generation systems to be updated!
We thought the evolution of cars was fast, but apart from China's overachievers, the power systems in Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia are incredibly fragile—they can barely support data centers, let alone upgrading every household and building public charging facilities on a large scale. This truly requires 20-30 years!
